Hi, I’m Fran Smee, the author and illustrator of the Fran’s Van series of children’s books.
Every story involves a journey which starts with the arrival of a magic box and finishes with a sunset. In between there is a great adventure with fun characters and problems to be solved.
All of the stories are set in my native Scotland. They were originally developed from bedtime stories which I used to tell my children about our 1974 Westphalia V.W. Campervan. She is called Pandora or Dora for short. Dora is a character in herself being 27 years old and that is 83 in “van years”.
